YOGIC SECRET FOR DETOX, HEALTH AND BEAUTY
Want to know a super easy way to deeply cleanse the body, purify the organs, strengthen the nervous system, increase energy, relive depression, strengthen the aura, beautify the skin and feel amazing?
The magic is in a cold shower, a form of hydrotherapy known in the east as ishnaan! Yogi Bhajan said this cleanses the body at the deepest level.
“When the marrow in the blood does not have the faculty to change itself, then it cannot be changed. The only last chance is that you can transplant it. That’s why people who do not take cold showers have arthritis, bone problems, marrow problems and artery problems. Every problem in the body is a result of your capillaries not opening and not getting flushed every day. Your glandular system is the guardian of your whole system.” -Yogi Bhajan
This yogic trick is so simple, but it's not always easy. Yogi Bhajan taught to take a cold shower upon rising at 3:30 in the morning. That takes some grit! But the benefits are huge.
(Even if you're not down with getting up that early, you can use this detox trick any time of day.)

Note: When menstruating, women should not take a cold shower. A woman is advised to take showers with lukewarm water during the menstrual cycle.

Because when you take a cold shower the blood from inside hits outside to cover the attack. In that fast movement it ends up opening the capillaries. When capillaries are open they feed your glands, when a glandular system is well-fed it secretes, the chemistry of your blood becomes perfect. Ready to try it? Here's a basic breakdown.
1. Dry brush the skin
2. Massage oil all over. (It might be tempting, but don't skip this! It helps soften the shock of the cold so much. Plus you get nice, soft skin!) Almond oil or an Ayurvedic oil formula work great.
3. Women, cover your thighs with shorts (it protects the calcium and magnesium levels). Men, cover the genitals.
4. Get in a cold, cold shower.
5. Rub and massage the body vigourously, hitting the buttocks, thighs and sternum lightly. Women massage the breasts.
6. When you start to get warm naturally, you can get out, towel off until dry and dress.
*Women on their moon cycle, pregnant or anyone who is sick can take a luke warm shower, not cold. Also do not take a cold shower if you have a fever, rheumatism, or heart disease.
You can chant when you're really cold and want to get out. Shout Victory or Wahe Guru!

"By doing any exercise for hours, you cannot stimulate your cell psyche to the extent that you can with cold water. And the procedure is very simple. Take your hands, let the cold water fall, and rub them to the extent that they become hot under the ice cold water. And so with every part of the body; let it go, let it be, and stimulate yourself. And this stimulation may look to you like a fanatic, painful attitude, but that's what it is all about. Some people do deep muscle massage, some people go to spas, and others do this or that. There are one million methods and nothing even comes close to this one." - Yogi Bhajan
"Ishnaan is going under the cold water and massaging your body, it's total hydrotherapy. It has nothing to do with anything. And then thereafter come out when you are not feeling any cold, you have to go under water three four times to come to that stage and then you cross towel eleven times, cross towel eleven times, this pelvic area kidneys eleven times, then back this way eleven times, then you rub your face and all the legs the whole thing, and your body becomes like a very cooked red and that's called toweling the body. Your skin will always be shining and pretty looking. However, these beauties are for those who have to make the life." - Yogi Bhajan
