To the Ones Who are Burning
To the ones who are burning: I see you. I’m holding space for you. We are counting on you to see it through. Don’t back away now.

So many women are lit ablaze right now. And I realize that’s an unfortunate term to use given what is happening in Australia and other parts of the world, but there’s no way around it. And it’s not a coincidence either.
⠀⠀
If you are fearful of this process, I want you to know it’s okay. It is good. It is right. Scary, yes. Uncomfortable, yes. But it will be fine, and it will be more than fine.
⠀⠀
This is holy fire. Let it burn everything untrue in you. Let it awaken all that has been put to sleep.
⠀⠀
What has been buried and carried in the bodies and souls of women for millennia is breaking free. The rupture is tumultuous. It is felt both individually and collectively in the psyche and on the flesh body and the earth body.
⠀⠀
Reclaim all in you that you have been afraid of, all in you that you have rejected.
⠀⠀
The fire is the threshold of the birth of liberation. SHE is rising, and as she does, she will throw off the shackles you have bound yourself with. Her rising is your rising, and your rising is all of our rising.

Only what is false can burn; the truth remains as radiance.
⠀⠀
The result of the fire isn’t some manic, crazy, or dangerous thing. (Though maybe for a while.) In the end, the fire softens us, it tenderizes us, but only when we have given ourselves completely. We have to meet all that lives inside of us before we can return. Then we come to the heart for the first real time. We see with new eyes. We know deeply from the belly.

Go. Burn. Be free.

about standing in fire:
it will take much, much longer than you think it should
you will want to leave
your insides will squirm
your mind will tell you all the things you are missing
about how you should be doing things
and making things
and accomplishing things
just look at everyone else
— just look at all they’re becoming
while you stand and burn
into nothing
you will feel lonely
and unsure
and abandoned
there’ll be moments you want with all of your might
to turn it off
to shut it down
to get on with the living
but that small voice,
the one that sounds just like heart and soul and Her
will tell you
don’t move
stay right where you are
you are not done yet
it is perfect
and you will trust that voice
just like you always have
because even though you live in circles while the world goes straight on
you know it couldn’t be any
other way
you were born for this
you are woman
both grace
and fire
